Ever wondered what Godzilla would look like if the monster was turned into a car? The Nissan GT-R is that car – it's been nicknamed appropriately. Sporting a wide body, big wheels, a hand-built performance engine and one of the most recognisable front ends on the roads today, there's a reason this car is so sought after.

It'll also shoot from 0 to 100 kph in only 2.7 seconds, which puts it in a special class – this is a supercar. While it doesn't look like a Ferrari or a McLaren, the Nissan GT-R is more of a beast than those cars. It's a reincarnation of the first Nissan GT-R, and it has one heck of a pedigree. Any car enthusiast would love to have one of these in their garage.

What makes the engine so special?

The twin-turbo V6 under the hood throws down 419 kilowatts of power and 632 Nm of torque. That's why it sounds so incredible. When you have that much power running through the car, the engine needs to be working hard, and that creates a rumble that will make your hairs stand on end. It's amazing.

Each of the engines that go into the Nissan GT-R line is crafted in a temperature- and air-controlled clean room, similar to the ones that Formula One engineers use. They're all assembled by a technician known only as "Takumi", so the quality is assured from car to car. To assist the engine in getting to speed faster, there's a dual-clutch, sequential paddle shift  six-speed transmission that rocks through the gears in just 0.15 seconds. The longer it takes to change gears, the more power is lost. Almost no power is lost when you shift in this car.

How does it feel on the road?

Whether you're in 'R' mode or not, the Nissan GT-R is spacious and race-worthy in the cabin. That's not to say it's barren and has a roll cage. In fact, the soft leather interior is nicely offset by an 8-inch infotainment screen in the centre of the dashboard. This is a car just at home on the track as it is around suburban streets. It also has six airbags that move with you as you adjust your seat – both for the driver and the passenger.

To feel the power and performance this incredible car has to offer, make sure you head into the Sydney North Shore Automotive Nissan dealership in Sydney today. Once you get behind the wheel, you'll never want to get out.
