With 2019 just around the corner, now's a great time to line up the cars that look to make it a great year. With so many emerging, narrowing the list hasn't been easy! However, here are our favourite 2019 edition vehicles set to hit the open road.

Toyota Supra

It's finally back. For 16 years Toyota has left fans of their Supra bereft, but for no longer. While not much has yet been revealed about the Toyota Supra, what is known is promising. Chuck this car into sports mode and the suspension, throttle inputs and steering take on a noticeable level of firmness. A light build and low seating makes the ride feel agile and sharp, a lithe vehicle to get your heart pumping.

This might just hit number one on the list of cars that are keeping us on the edges of our seats in expectation of.

Ford Mustang Bullitt

Passing over the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt is impossible for this list. Not only is it a 50-year anniversary edition celebrating one of the most iconic movie car chases of all time, it's also an excellent vehicle in its own right.

Ford has clearly taken the time to craft this vehicle, and there's nothing half-hearted about their efforts. Expect the cue-ball gear knob, and, the perfecting touch, feel the hairs rise on your arms as the throaty, crackling growl starts up.

A vehicle to make Steve McQueen proud, and striking with its dark highland green colouring with chrome accents, you'll feel like you've driven off the big screen yourself when taking it out onto the road.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet

If you're looking for the embodiment of a grand tourer, hold out for the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. With it, you receive all the luxury you'd expect, as well as a satisfying performance matched well with the grumble of an engine firing eight-cylinders.

An additional bonus is how this vehicle is overloaded with tech. From being able to control every function using the touch-sensitive toggles on the steering wheel to top-of-the-line infotainment, cabin ambience settings, and safety equipment, there's nothing much missing from the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. When seat ventilation and vehicle fragrance are adjusted for you depending on the mood setting you've chosen, could you ask for much more?

Kia Sportage

When looking for a car that delivers on an extensive range of standard features, the 2019 Kia Sportage is the vehicle for you.

Despite how the changes to the model aren't immediately noticeable, the subtle improvements add important touches to this car that cause it to stand out. The design edges towards a more masculine appearance, and on the inside, an upgraded infotainment delivers on better resolution and performance.

With more space, we'd list all the equipment that you'll find in the standard model for Kia Sportage, however, since we don't have room (unlike the car) we'll just have to say that it's impressive.

There's a diesel SLi version of the Kia Sportage available as well, if you're wanting a bit of extra kick from the engine.

Citroen C3 Aircross

Its button-like appearance adds a striking touch to this small French SUV, and immediately gives you the impression of rounded comfort, which is exactly what you'll find inside. Long trips won't leave you uncomfortable with these seats, and you'll find that, despite its smaller size, the Citroen C3 Aircross' interior doesn't feel cramped. Additionally, with the ability to fold down the front passenger seat, and the benefit of a great ceiling height, the storage capabilities of the vehicle are very impressive.

The suspension is a dream as well. Gliding you across rough surfaces, you'll be glad the French marque has put comfort at the top its priorities when building the Citroen C3 Aircross.

Peugeot 508 Fastback

Gorgeous is the only word to apply to this large sedan. We're pretty sure the small market for this type of car is going to pick up with the Peugeot 508 Fastback coming into it. This is partly because they've incorporated a sleek, alluring design to it, as well as lowering the stance of the vehicle which brings in a more athletic feel.

Additionally, the interior is exceptional, an air of luxury that you can revel in. Relax back, and put the spacious cabin to use, while knowing that any passengers in the back seat have plenty of legroom to play with. Peugeot sits at the top of the market with their infotainment units, so you don't even have to worry about fussing with smartphone mirroring.

Performance is excellent. Quicker than you'll ever need, it also provides you with powerful acceleration.
