The details for the Peugeot Expert 2019 have finally landed!
Peugeot's 2019 Expert marks the first of three light commercial vehicles coming to Australia after the marque withdrew its vans from the market in 2015. Expected to be available at Australian dealerships on May 1, the Expert welcomes in a new line of high performance commercial vans that lead the pack for convenience and safety.
Let's take a look under the hood and see what the Peugeot Expert is bringing business fleets in 2019.
Peugeot Expert 2019: Revamped for the Australian market
Even before Peugeot withdrew its vans, the Expert hadn't reached Australian soil. Why? A lack of proper automatic transmission made it more or less unviable for our market. But it's caught up now, and hitting the road with an Aisin six-speed torque converter auto option available with its 110 kilowatts and 130 kilowatts engine variants.
Speaking of engines, the Peugeot Expert offers a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine in three different power ranges:
- At the lower end with a purely manual transmission, this engine reaches 85 kilowatts of power with a torque of 300 Nm.
- Moving up the line and introducing the automatic option, expect 110 kilowatts and torque of 370 Nm for this mid-range engine.
- Lastly, 130 kilowatts and 400 Nm only available with an automatic transmission, completes the listing.
Efficiency and emissions are also on Peugeot's radar, with the Expert promising fuel efficiency as good as 5.2 litres per 100 kilometres for the 85 kilowatt manual and CO2 emissions from 137 grams per kilometre.
It's all about the body with the Peugeot Expert 2019
For all your transportation and distribution needs, the Peugeot Expert 2019 is well equipped.
Choose from two body length options: standard or extended.
The standard model provides 2.5 metres in load length and 5.3 cubic litres of load space. This is the only body available with the 85 kilowatt engine, but is also available with the more powerful options.

Peugeot's extended body offers a great baseline for room, as well as extra flexibility. Starting with 4 metres of load length, you can add an additional 1.1 metre by folding up the Moduwork passenger seat. With 6.6 cubic litres of load space, towing capacity up to 2,200 kilograms and payload of 1,300 kilograms, the extended Peugeot Expert is set to answer all your needs.
